WPU's Mya Goodman Selected For Israeli U17G National Team
Israel Preparing For 2011/12 UEFA European Women's U17 Championship

Mya Goodman, a midfielder, who plays for the defending Florida State Cup Champion West Pines United FC 95/96 (U16G), has been recently bestowed the honor of being selected to Israel’s U17 Girl’s National Team. Mya, who has played for West Pines United FC since the age of seven years old, has just recently returned from Israel after her successful trial. Through a series of trials while also being scouted during the 2011 JCC Maccabi Games in Israel, Mya & her fellow WPU teammate, Cidney Moscovitch, were instrumental in leading the JCC Boca Raton delegation to the Silver Medal in the U17 Girl’s Division. Their team advanced to the championship match in Jerusulem, where they found themselves on the wrong end of a hard fought final, losing 1-0 to Israel, the host country. Mya will re-join the Israel’s U17 Girl’s National Team in October as they ready themselves for the upcoming 2011/12 UEFA European Women’s U17 Championship. Israel will compete in group play along with England, Finland & Northern Ireland, who will be the host nation. The group play qualifiers will take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The road to the 2011/12 finals begins with the first qualifying round in September and October. The group winners and the four runners-up with the best record against the sides first and third in their pool will join top seeds Germany and the Netherlands in the second qualifying round in spring 2012. The four section winners in that round progress to the finals held, as usual, at the Colovray Stadium in UEFA’s Swiss home town of Nyon that August.
