On a glorious January evening at Silver Lakes North Park in Pembroke Pines, the local soccer community united for a common cause to generate funds for the West Pines United 3 V 3 Fundraiser – Earthquake Relief for the People of Haiti. Spearheaded as well as hosted by West Pines United FC, the event raised $4000 for this worthy cause which was presented to United Way Broward / Haiti.
West Pines United President, Todd Goodman, commented on the event, “ I’d like to take this opportunity to personally thank the City of Pembroke Pines, Walgreens, the WPU BOD, the WPU coaches / volunteers & all the neighboring cities (Miramar, Sunrise, Weston, Cooper City & Plantation) in uniting to make the West Pines United 3 V 3 Fundraiser – Earthquake Relief for the People of Haiti such an astounding success”.
West Pines United FC, in partnership with the City of Pembroke Pines and in conjunction with Walgreens, cordially invites you to the Earthquake Relief for the People of Haiti 3v3 fundraiser. All proceeds generated will benefit the people affected by this horrific disaster. We respectfully request your support to this cause. The 3v3 fundraiser will be held in a street soccer format. There will be no scores/standings kept and no coaching will be allowed.
Team Registration will be $40, individuals can also register for $10 and then they will be placed on a team. Please make checks payable to: United Way of Broward County – Haiti. Also, a donation drive in conjunction with Volunteer Broward will take place. Items requested are bottled water, batteries, flashlights, baby products, canned foods, blankets & clothes.
